How Ranking Works

Version 1.0·Updated 1 September 2026

The law requires a marketplace to explain how it decides the order listings appear in, and to say whether anyone can pay to move up it. Both answers are below, in full.

1. Nobody can pay for position

There is no promoted placement on GTAMarket. No sponsored slot, no featured listing, no paid bump, no advertising of any kind. No amount of money moves a listing up, and there is no product to buy that would.

We do not sell anything ourselves, so there is no offering of our own to favour over a seller's, and no differentiated treatment to disclose.

2. What decides the order

When you type a search

Listings are ordered by how well their title and description match what you typed. An exact phrase in the title beats an incidental word in the middle of a description. Nothing else enters the calculation — not the seller's rank, not their fee, not their sales, not how long they have been here.

When you browse without searching

Listings appear in a stable order that does not change between pages of the same result set. No seller is systematically placed above another.

When you choose a sort

You can override the default at any time. The options are exactly these, and each does only what it says:

SortWhat it orders by
RelevanceText match against title and description (the default when searching)
Price: low to highUnit price
Price: high to lowUnit price
NewestWhen the listing was published
Seller ratingThe seller's weighted rating from completed orders
Recently bumpedWhen the listing was last bumped — see Section 3

Filters

Category, price range, delivery method, platform, seller rank, whether the seller is online, whether the item is in stock, and category-specific attributes. A filter removes listings that do not match. It does not reorder the ones that do.

3. Bumping

A seller can move their own listing back to the top of the Recently bumped sort. It is free.

Every seller's bump is worth exactly the same. Rank does not make a bump stronger; it only changes how often you may use one:

RankOne bump every
Rookie24 hours
Bronze12 hours
Silver6 hours
Gold3 hours
Platinum2 hours
Elite1 hour

Rank is earned by settled sales volume and rating — see Fees and Payouts. It cannot be bought.

Bumping only affects the Recently bumped sort. It does nothing to relevance, price, newest or rating.

4. Seller rank and the catalogue

Rank affects a seller's fee, their payout hold, how many listings they may run at once, and how often they may bump. It does not push their listings above anyone else's in any sort except the one that explicitly orders by rating.

Sellers at Gold and above publish without waiting in the moderation queue. That affects how fast a listing appears, not where it appears once it does.

5. Reviews

Every review on this service comes from a buyer who completed a paid order for that listing. There is no other way to leave one — no anonymous reviews, no reviews without a purchase, no reviews written by us.

We do not remove a review for being negative. We remove one that breaks the Prohibited Use Policy — abuse, personal data, an attempt to move the conversation off the service — and when we do, we tell both parties.

Reviewing yourself, arranging reviews, trading them, buying them, or offering anything for one or for its removal resets a seller's rank and can close the account.

6. Changes

If we ever introduce paid placement, we will label every paid listing plainly in the results, update this page before it launches, and give sellers 15 days' notice. We have no plans to.
