Your First Business Matters More Than You Think
In GTA Online, the players who bought the right businesses early ended up with a permanent income advantage that compounded over months. The wrong first purchase meant weeks of grinding to recover. GTA 6 Online will follow the same pattern — your first business sets the pace for everything else.
Priority List
1. Warehouse or Storage Facility
This should be your first purchase, before anything flashy. A warehouse lets you buy goods at low prices, stockpile them, and sell in bulk when prices peak. In GTA Online, CEO warehouses were the fastest path to your first million.
Why first: Every other money-making method improves when you have storage. You can hold items during price dips instead of panic-selling.
Expected cost: $200K–$500K depending on size and location.
2. Nightclub
Nightclubs in GTA Online generated passive income just from existing — you didn't need to actively run missions. GTA 6's nightclub system is expected to expand on this with events, DJs, and popularity mechanics.
Why second: Passive income running in the background while you grind other activities. The sooner you buy one, the more it earns over the game's lifetime.
Expected cost: $1M–$3M depending on location. Beachfront and downtown locations generate more foot traffic.
3. Vehicle Dealership
New to GTA 6. Players can reportedly buy and run car dealerships, flipping vehicles for profit. This is directly tied to the player trading economy — you're essentially running a marketplace within the game.
Why third: Vehicle demand will be sky-high at launch. Everyone wants cars, and a dealership gives you a cut of every sale.
Expected cost: $2M–$5M. Premium locations cost more but attract higher-end buyers.
4. Drug Operation
High risk, high reward. These require active management — supply runs, defending against raids, managing distribution. But the profit margins are the highest of any business type.
Why fourth, not first: You need cash flow from safer businesses first. Getting raided when a drug lab is your only income source is devastating. Get stable income, then take the risk.
Expected cost: $1.5M–$4M for setup, plus ongoing supply costs.
Location Matters
In GTA Online, business location was a trap — players spent millions on prime downtown locations when cheaper ones performed almost identically. In GTA 6, location is expected to matter more:
- Downtown Vice City — highest foot traffic, highest prices, best for nightclubs
- Beachfront — tourist areas, great for vehicle dealerships and nightclubs
- Industrial zones — cheaper, better for warehouses and drug operations
- Suburbs — lowest prices, but also lowest visibility
Don't blow your starting cash on a prime location for your first business. Start in a cheaper area, build capital, then upgrade or buy a second location in a premium spot.
What Not to Buy First
- Penthouse apartments — they look cool but generate zero income
- Supercars — they depreciate and don't earn you anything
- Cosmetics — spend money on income-generating assets first
- Aircraft — fun but useless for making money early on
Every dollar spent on lifestyle is a dollar not invested in your next business. Build the empire first, flex later.
When to Sell
Some businesses are better as long-term holds. Others should be flipped once you've outgrown them:
- Keep forever: Nightclubs, prime location properties
- Sell when upgrading: Starter warehouses, suburban businesses
- Flip for profit: Any business you bought early at launch prices once values inflate
